Woobin Shin

I will make it into the top 100. I have no doubt about that

He is the best player in South Korea within his age group. Tennis is the only thought lurking in his mind. "A year ago I moved to Hong Kong to dedicate myself to tennis full time. My father left his job to support me. I feel loads of pressure, since were betting everything on my tennis career. My mom and sister are still in Seoul, sometimes I miss going home and being with them. I know they miss me too. In spite of that, I am happy, I know I am lucky to be able to do what I love", he reflects.

"Now I practice between 6 and 7 hours every day. During my time off court, I watch tennis matches on TV and learn tactics from other players". The burden of high costs expenses to play tennis at a professional level is one of the main obstacles for Woobin, but he is relying on his talent to pave the way for a bright future.

"We are struggling to get the money to travel to tournaments. But I know that if I keep working hard, the results will come and with them, sponsors. So everything will be easier ".

Despite being only 15 years old, when we asked him about his dream, he did not hesitate for a second. "I will make it into the top 100. I have no doubt about that. All the effort that my family has made for me will be rewarded. I will work without stopping until I succeed. My talent is not skill, is endurance.”
